Hot Yoga (known also as Bikram Yoga after it's creator), is a series of 26 postures (asanas) and two breathing exercises, suitable for all ages and levels of ability.
Class is conducted in a purpose built heated studio that helps the student to warm up their muscles, prevent injury, promoting a deeper workout and further helps to cleanse the body by flushing out unwanted toxins.
The 90 minute class was scientifically designed to deliver total health by balancing and strengthening every system in the body, helping to prevent illness and injury, promote weight loss and limit the effects of aging. The series and sequence of postures methodically stretches and strengthens muscles and ligaments as it prepares the joints needed for the next posture. This ensures to further stimulate every organ, gland and system of the body, as freshly oxygenated blood is moved to every part of the body, restoring all systems to healthy working order.
In addition the series of postures develop and combine skills of concentration, patience, determination and self-control that help promote mental clarity as well as reduce stress.
